Maria Klassenberg Archive
Aneta Grzeszykowska, known for a range of projects alluding to iconic figures of feminist art, has gone a step further this time. At the request of the Ujazdowski Castle Centre for Contemporary Art and TR theater in Warsaw, she created the archive of the fictional performance artist Maria Klassenberg. Displayed on the screens and monitors Klassenberg’s archive performances are not only matter, around which the director, Katarzyna Kalwat, creates her spectacle, but also are corresponding strongly with the works of Grzeszykowska. The artist, unknown to the public, is focused on exploring her body, identity and her closest environment. Her first retrospective was prepared by Anda Rottenberg.
