Slavs and Tatars’s work was on view at EVA International, Ireland’s Biennial of Contemporary Art, in Limerick, from 31 of August to 29 October, 2023.
“Artistic interventions on the school grounds of Thomond Primary School that explored notions of race and colonialism as part of the tradition of children’s educational literature from former socialist nations in Eastern Europe, Caucasus and Central Asia. Works included a sound installation, a public event, and the spelling of the name Thomond Primary School in Ukrainian on the windows of the school’s main building.”
The work is a preview of the Slavs and Tatars book Azbuka Strikes Back, which will be published in 2024. Azbuka Strikes Back is a children’s book with audio, co-authored by Leah Feldman and Slavs and Tatars.
