Oskar Dawicki
Twenty Three Years of Losing Shine

1995-2018, jacket, hanger, ca. 90 x 50 x 10 cm

The blue spangled jacket was given to Dawicki as a gift in April 1995 and has since become his trademark of sorts as he has worn it for every one of his public artistic performances. The gradual wearing down of the fabric ultimately inspired Dawicki to make an individual artwork of the jacket itself. The number in the title grows as the artist, his jacket and his career get on in years.
