In its form, Atlas is a work reminiscent of a painting, which is essentially a frame wound with paper and fabric, its interior empty. As in his previous works, Budny creates compositions by bringing together carefully selected materials, which not only carry specific artistic and haptic qualities, but their own, particular stories. Pink paper, full of the traces of use, makes up the front part of the piece, and comes from a Bern library, where it served as the dust cover for one of its geographic atlases.
