Michelle Rawlings
Untitled

2017
oil on linen, 26,5 x 17,5 cm

Rawlings' paintings are mostly created through a very time-consuming, painstaking process, some of them painted over many times in the artist's studio. This textured piece is one of those examples, a record of a history that is underneath of what you see on the surface. For its final shape the artist finally settled on the sour yellow color, inspired by the aesthetics of the 60s and 70s.
