Untitled (Portraits)

Aneta Grzeszykowska
Untitled (Portraits)

2005
series of 15 photographs, c-print, dibond, plexi, 47 x 37 cm each, ed. of 5 + 1 A.P.

Series of photo portraits of nonexistent people - all physiognomies have been created by the artist in Photoshop with the use of various photographs and processing tools. In terms of composition, Grzeszykowska's portraits refer to the eminent photographs by Thomas Ruff, being actually the opposite. In an amazingly illusionist way the works depict people, whose nonexistence is difficult to acknowledge.
