Oskar Dawicki
Complication (2)

2007, wooden table, c-print, plexi, glasses, 73 x 91 x 160 cm

The piece centers around a photograph set upon a table, depicting a selection of drawings and sketches by Dawicki, along with his painting tools. While rarely shown, these types of drawings are an essential part of the artist's practice. The wine glass stems set upon the photograph are an allusion to the typical drink served at every exhibition opening. The work was first shown at Dawicki's solo show at the RWE Turm in Essen organized by the Folkwang Museum (Every Mistake Has a Hidden Meaning, curated by Ulrike Westphal).
