The painting is a part of Zbigniew Rogalski’s latest series Abortion Plants. Autumn Crocu is known to be one of the herbs which are categorically forbidden to pregnant women. Its consumption may result in miscarriage even at a very advanced stage.
“Ładnie” group portrait painted on the basis of a photograph taken in 1999 during a visit to Jozef Tomczyk “Kurosawa” in Oswiecim, where he lived at his brother’s home.
