Works by Janek Simon and by Slavs and Tatars are being shown at the Centre Pompidou in Metz at the museum’s exhibition Folklore. This show, focused on concepts of ethnicity and vernacular culture, presents a broad selection of works from early modernism through the present, including such artists as Joseph Beuys and Július Koller. The exhibition demonstrates that despite progressing globalization, the local remains the touchstone for many artists. The exhibition is open until 4 October 2020.
