Cross Section comes from a series of works painted in thinned black paint (like Bamboos or Colonies). The lightness of these works is, however, somewhat illusive. Bujnowski is involved in the process of producing images based on a well-structured routine, and not the artist’s ego. He is interested in the possibility of short-term illumination, and the discovery of a shape or meaning in the universe that would seem accidental, and absurd actions, movements, behavior, gestures. This sort of thing occurs suddenly, in a split second, but remains in the head for a very long time.
