Sławomir Elsner is renowned for his virtuosic drawings and watercolours, in which he reinterprets iconic works of both historical and modern painting. Images that are often all too familiar from reproductions lose their sharpness in Elsner’s hands, gaining instead a sense of mystery and atmospheric allure.
The puzzle, based on one of his drawings, offers an extreme journey into a tangle of thousands of coloured lines, from which the misty image of the most famous work of art in Polish museum collections gradually emerges.
