Raster presents a meeting of three artists arranged especially for ACK: Kyoto-based Kazuhito Tanaka, Berlin-based Slawomir Elsner and Warsaw-based Janek Simon. Their creative approaches, materialised in various media – drawing, sculpture, photography and painting – share a conceptual origin. From different cultural perspectives, the artists analyse and critique artistic representation. In their works, they subject images borrowed from visual culture and art history to processes of deconstruction and reconstruction. They do so in order to free our vision from learned, stereotypical or automatic associations.
