Przemek Matecki’s solo show at Platán gallery of the Polish Institute of Culture in Budapest is a variation on one particular motif, or a painting procedure rather, used in his works: a multilayer colorful pattern created using a palette knife. It was developed first for his solo exhibition in Zachęta National Art Gallery in Warsaw; all the paintings for the Hungarian show were created later in spring 2015 and supplemented by an in situ mural repeating the same pattern used in all of them.
