good news
We are very happy to present latest works of Paulina Stasik that were created after the artist's recent exhibition at the Raster. Stasik examines relations between bodies and their pictorial and sculptural representations. Making use of phenomenal painting skills she brings about compositions full of classical iconography references and infused with subtle eroticism.
"My paintings are melancholic — says Paulina — and main characters seem to dwell in half-sleep, a sort of listlessness. The bodies have no adornments nor clothes to point to a specific time. It's an utopian body, the body that you miss, a dream of symbiotic oneness with the subject of you feelings that proves unreal. The only thing that stays is an endless desire."
