Simon is interested in the matter of Polish colonialism, which was blocked out or perhaps wiped out. He reminds us that before the war, Polish government planned acquiring a colony on Madagascar, among other places, while in Warsaw people could watch encaged "specimens" of exotic people. The artist reflects on this topic through the lens of Witkacy's work of the same title.
