Love Letters series of carpets address the issue of manipulation of alphabets across Arabic, Latin and Cyrillic, through taahe Russian Revolution’s most well-known, if conflicted, poet-champion, Vladimir Mayakovsky, e.g. failed attempts to assign Cyrillic letters or graphemes to phonemes (from Polish to Abkhaz, Moldovan to Tajik) that did not previously exist in the Cyrillic alphabet.
