The starting point for the exhibition of the Slavs and Tatars collective is the history of the Chair of Oriental Studies at the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, specifically its chapter covering the years 1919–1939. At that time, during the Second Polish Republic, it was the second most important center of oriental studies in Poland.
Creating the theoretical foundation of the exhibition, Slavs and Tatars visited Lviv, where they met with local educators and researchers. The collective took into account, above all, the common history of Wrocław and Lviv, which was silently witnessed by the headquarters of OP ENHEIM at Solny Square.
