The first solo exhibition of Slavs and Tatars in France Régions d’être is taking place at the Villa Arson in Nice. Curated by Eric Mangion, the exhibition is a call to look at reality beyond the dominant ideologies and discourses. Régions d’être gives a broad insight into the collective artistic practice based on the cultural hybridization expressed through the assimilation of words, objects and symbols. The exhibition shows, among others, the latest work by Slavs and Tatars, the Salty Sermon carpet, which provides a manifesto for the collective’s approach to pickling.
