May 2066. Tondi

2016, oil on canvas, ⌀ 100 cm each

A series of abstract tondi with different variations of a geometric, color-gradient composition. All paintings from the series were treated with a special ageing procedure in a climate chamber on Warsaw's University of Technology (used in commerce on a daily basis to test the life-span of some products or materials) under the supervision of Prof. Ryszard Piramidowicz. Thus, just in a few nights, they aged by 50 years. The series was prepared for Bujnowski's solo exhibition at the Zachęta—National Art Gallery in Warsaw; its conservator team has taken care of it after ageing: re-stretching them back, waxing and varnishing to avoid dimming the colors.
